○ 01 About

Yet Another Trophy Mod or "YATM" aims to offer more realistic and lore-friendly bonuses for the Monster Trophies.

The bonuses of most trophies were designed to be unique. However, some trophies may be considered an alternative with similar stats.

Example: One Trophy may come with "+5% Sign intensity" and "+10% Resistance to elemental damage",
while another may offer "+10% Sign intensity" and "+5% Resistance to elemental damage".

► There are six ( 6 ) different options you can choose from:
(See the information under "07 Comparison (Options)" below for more details.)

Please keep in mind that this mod can have a significant impact on your gameplay experience,
depending on which option you choose to install and play with.

1. | NEW! Option 0 (Vanilla): The bonus values of "Option A (Default)",
lowered by ~50% where appropriate, to be even closer to the Vanilla values.

This new option can be found at the bottom of the "Files" tab page and is included in the main file as well.

2. | Option A (Default): This is the default option. Its bonus values were designed to be similar to the Vanilla bonuses.

To clarify: The bonuses offered by this default option are not the bonuses of the Vanilla trophies.
Different bonuses were chosen and their values were designed to be similar to the Vanilla bonuses (~"4" to "20").

3. | Option B (Enhanced): The bonus values of "Option A (Default)", increased by about 50%, where appropriate.

4. | Option C (Doubled): The bonus values of this option are the values of "Option A (Default)", times 2 or doubled.

5. | Option D (Tripled): The bonus values of "Option A (Default)", times 3 or tripled.

6. | Option E (Quadrupled): The bonus values of "Option A (Default)", multiplied by 4.

○ 02 Compatibility

This mod was created using game version "1.31".

As such, it should be compatible with a game patched to version 1.31.

Compatibility with older game versions of The Witcher 3 (pre-1.31) can unfortunately not be guaranteed.

If you are having problems with the mod, please refer to the "10 Troubleshooting" segment of this description.

○ 03 Requirements

The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt (patched to game version 1.31)

○ 04 Known Issues

► At least one of the "Vitality" values may not be shown correctly on the character statistics panel in the inventory,
after a trophy with that bonus value was equipped.
(Example: It may read "192" or "19", instead of "19238".)

This should be temporary and may be fixable by closing and re-opening the inventory panel(s).

► Some trophies can't be dropped and remain in the inventory.
This is the normal behaviour for some trophies. However, if a trophy or trophies were added via console command,
the Player may not be able to drop the item(s).

► The "Maximum Inventory Weight" value on the Inventory interface may not be reset to its pre-mod / normal state,
if the mod is uninstalled without unequipping a Trophy that affects or changes this value first.

Other bonuses and their values may also be affected by this.

► The "Vitality regeneration in combat" bonus and its values are not shown
on the Ekimmara and Katakan trophy's tooltips, but should work if the Trophy is equipped.
(This may be how this bonus is displayed in-game, so it is possible that this is not fixable.)

► The "Vitality regeneration outside of combat" bonus value of the Succubus trophy
is shown as "Vitality regeneration" on the item's tooltip in-game.
(This seems to be how this bonus is displayed by the game, so it may not be fixable.)

○ 05 Installation

DISCLAIMER: Before installing new content or mods, try to keep an additional copy and backup of your savegames in a secure, separate location. How you create and maintain such a backup is up to you. Also try to save your game to a new Manual Save Slot every now and then, so you can go back to a previous savegame, should the need arise.

This is just a precautionary step when installing or removing new content, including mods.

► How to install this mod, manually:

└► Short version (Manual Installation):

1. | Unequip the trophy you have equipped in-game.

2. | Save your game to a new, separate manual save slot, wait briefly and then exit The Witcher 3.

3. | Download the main file on the "Files" tab and extract the contents of the ".zip" archive to a location you can access easily.

4. | Choose the option you prefer inside the extracted folder.

5. | Copy the "modYetAnotherTrophyMod" folder from the option you chose
and paste it into the "mods" folder of your The Witcher 3 game directory.

6. | Once the folder has been copied & pasted, start the game and play.

└► Detailed version (Manual Installation):

These instructions are more in-depth than the short version. Refer to these if you are having problems with the steps above.

1. | Unequip the trophy you have equipped in-game.

2. | Save your game to a new, separate manual save slot, wait briefly and then exit The Witcher 3.

3. | On the "Files" tab of this mod page, download and save the main file by using the "MANUAL DOWNLOAD" button.

4. | Extract the contents of the ".zip" archive you have downloaded to a location you can access easily (such as your Downloads folder).
You can use software like WinRAR, 7-Zip or the built-in Windows extraction tool to extract ".zip" files.

5. | Using the Windows Explorer, open the folder you just extracted.
Here you will find 5 different sub-folders for each available option.

6. | Choose the option you prefer and open its sub-folder.

7. | In a new, separate Explorer window, find and open your The Witcher 3 game directory.
(Example: "C: ** Games ** The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt")

8. | If you already have the folder "mods" inside your Witcher 3 game directory, skip this step.
If you do not have it, create the folder "mods" in the Witcher 3 game directory and continue.

9. | Copy the folder "modYetAnotherTrophyMod" from the option you chose, then paste it into the "mods" folder.
After installing the mod, the final path should look something like this:
"C: ** Games ** The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt ** mods ** modYetAnotherTrophyMod"

10. | Once the folder has been copied & pasted to the destination in the "mods" folder, start the game and play.

► How to install this mod with a Mod Manager, such as Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) or Vortex:

1. | Unequip the trophy you have equipped in-game.

2. | Save your game to a new, separate manual save slot, wait briefly and then exit The Witcher 3.

3. | On the "Files" tab of this mod page, choose the file you prefer under "Optional Files",
then click on "MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD" and have your mod manager download the file.
(Make sure your mod manager is set up to handle the "MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD" button correctly, if possible.)

4. | After the mod manager has downloaded the file, install it.
This may be handled differently, depending on which mod manager you are using.
With Vortex, you download the mod, install it, then enable and finally deploy it.

5. | Once the mod is installed and active / enabled, start the game and play.

○ 06 Removal / Uninstallation

IMPORTANT: Before removing this mod, make sure you un-equip the Trophy you currently have equipped in-game, then create a separate, manual savegame - to avoid a potential problem where a Trophy's bonuses are still applied to Geralt, even after the mod was removed.

This may be a problem with how some trophies and the bonuses they offer are handled by the game.

► How to uninstall or remove this mod, manually:

1. | Unequip the trophy you have equipped in-game.

2. | Save your game to a new, separate manual save slot, wait briefly and then exit The Witcher 3.

3. | Find the folder "modYetAnotherTrophyMod" in the "mods" folder in your Witcher 3 game directory.
(Path example: "C: ** Games ** The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt ** mods ** modYetAnotherTrophyMod")

4. | Remove the "modYetAnotherTrophyMod" folder from the "mods" directory.

► How to uninstall or remove this mod with a mod manager:

1. | Unequip the trophy you have equipped in-game.

2. | Save your game to a new, separate manual save slot, wait briefly and then exit The Witcher 3.

3. | Uninstall the mod, by using your mod manager.
Uninstallation or removal of mods may be handled differently, depending on which mod manager you are using.
If you are using Vortex, to uninstall the mod, you should be able to do so by clicking on "Remove" under the "Mods" section in the program.
A popup message should then appear - select the options you prefer there, then click on "Remove".

If you are having problems with the instructions for removing this mod, see some of the steps above under "05 Installation" for reference.

Still stuck? Please leave a comment and try to describe your problem in detail.

○ 08 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

You can find answers to some of the questions you may have here.

If you have a question that is not listed here, feel free to ask it in a comment.

  • Q: Can I install and use more than one mod that changes Monster Trophy stats or bonuses?
A: Installing more than one (1) mod which affects or changes the stats of Trophies may be problematic, as one mod could take priority over the other and only one of them may work, while the other does not. It is also possible that neither mod works in such a case, but this is just speculation.

  • Q: Do I need the "Blood and Wine" or "Hearts of Stone" DLC for this mod to work?
A: No, this mod should work without these DLCs installed. If you have these DLCs installed and have problems with the mod, you are welcome to leave a comment.

  • Q: Does this mod change the crown or coin prices of the trophies?
A: No, the prices were left as-is and this mod should not change the prices / values of the trophies.

  • Q: Does this mod come with a mod manager install script?
A: Unfortunately not. These scripts do not seem to be compatible with The Witcher 3 at the moment, since the necessary mod files aren't copied to the specified locations in the game directories, when such a script is used - as was discovered during testing. If you are a mod author and have a script that works with The Witcher 3, please feel free to let me know. Your help would be much appreciated!

  • Q: What does each option do (A, B, C, D, E) and do I need all or only one of them?
A: See the segments "01 About" and "07 Comparison (Options)" for more information on what each option does. You only need one (1) of them, depending on which option you prefer. Make sure you only have one installed at a time, as multiple options or versions of the mod can interfere with one another and may not work properly as a result.

  • Q: Why are some trophies either not attached to Roach or their 3D model is just a sack?
A: This appears to be the normal behaviour, as some trophies do not seem to have special or unique models. This mod should not change the Trophy models used in-game.

○ 10 Troubleshooting

Please note: Although many aspects of this mod have been tested thoroughly, a bug-free mod can not be guaranteed, still. If you find bugs, errors or have other problems with YATM, please leave a comment or add a bug report under the "Bugs" tab. Please try to describe the problem in as much detail as you can - this makes it easier to address that problem, if possible.

► Here is some information that could help:

└► If the mod does not seem to be working or the Trophies are using their old Vanilla bonuses in-game,
check that the mod was installed correctly and that the file and folder structures are correct (as seen below).

After installation, the folder structures should look similar to or exactly like this:

♦ ".. ** The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt ** mods ** modYetAnotherTrophyMod ** content ** blob0.bundle"

♦ ".. ** The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt ** mods ** modYetAnotherTrophyMod ** content ** metadata.store"

Should the problem persist, close the game and remove the mod, then try re-downloading and -installing it again, to see if it fixes the problem.

└► Also make sure that you aren't using more than one mod which alters or modifies the Monster Trophy bonuses or stats at the same time.
(One mod could interfere with or block the other.)

For reference, this mod uses modified versions of these files:

♦ ".. ** gameplay ** items ** def_item_trophies.xml"

♦ ".. ** gameplay ** items_plus ** def_item_trophies.xml"

└► If the "MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD" buttons aren't working,
make sure you have your mod manager configured to handle these buttons correctly.

This may be done differently, depending on which manager you use.
