A total rework for the visuals & skills of several followers with an immersive, lore-friendly approach. All of the affected NPCs have been given the ability to level alongside the player up to level 50 & some have been given new combat perks so they can carry their own weight against whatever threats the Dragonborn may face.

This mod overhauls the following spellcasters:

**Belrand  ~  Eola  ~  Frea  
Illia  ~  J'zargo ~  Marcurio  ~  Onmund**  
  
My goal was to visually enhance each follower in a way that wouldn't look too out of place in the vanilla game, but still be unique & reflective of their personality/background. This also extends to combat, with several characters gaining access to useful perks, spells, equipment, etc. To see a more in-depth list of changes for each follower, click the spoiler tag below.  
  
Spoiler:  Show**-- BELRAND --**  
  
**Perks Added:**Light Foot, Bladesman (Tier 1)  
**Level Cap:**Raised from 40 to 50  
**New Outfit:**Belrand's Outfit (Leveled Armor & Weapons)  
  
*NOTES: Belrand describes himself as a swordsman & comes equipped with a blade. He now has the proper perks to reflect that. *I've also given him the personal outfit left unused by the base game, providing him with gear that suits the player's level upon your first encounter.**  
**-- EOLA --**  
  
**Perks Added:** Light Foot  
**Level Cap:** Raised from 30 to 50  
  
*NOTES: Eola already boasts an array of powerful spells so she doesn't need much more than a few minor upgrades. Her new look is a bit more sinister & alludes to the *Nightblade's*cannibalistic nature.*  
  
  
**-- FREA --**  
  
**Spells Added:** Healing Hands  
**Perks Added:**Light Foot  
  
*NOTES: As a shaman, Frea has several healing spells at her disposal & will now use them to aid you in combat thanks to the addition of custom, script-free AI.*  
  
**-- ILLIA --**  
  
**Perks Added:** Light Foot  
**Level Cap:** Raised from 40 to 50  
**New Outfit:** Illia's Robes (-15% Destruction Spell Cost, +75% Magicka Regeneration)  
  
*NOTES: Along with her new look, Illia gains a unique set of enchanted robes to augment her spellcasting abilities. I personally wasn't a fan of the generic blue robes she came equipped with & wanted her to look visually distinct from the in-game hags, but still very much like a classic witch.*  
  
  
**-- J'ZARGO --**  
**Spells Added:** Healing, Healing Hands, Fast Healing  
**Perks Added:** Light Foot, Augmented Shock (Tier 1), Recovery (Tier 1), Regeneration, Juggernaut (Tier 2)  
**Level Cap:** Raised from 30 to 50  
  
*NOTES: J'Zargo is overly confident in his magical prowess, but his combat repertoire largely consisted of spamming "Sparks" until he ran out of magicka. I've made some adjustments to his perks & AI so that he'll be able to better support you in battle.*  
  
  
**-- MARCURIO --**  
  
**Perks Added:** Light Foot  
**Level Cap:** Raised from 40 to 50  
**New Outfit:** Marcurio's Lucky Earring (+30 to Magicka)  
  
*NOTES: Marcurio's faith in his ability to wreak arcane havoc is hardly misplaced. As such, he doesn't need much beyond a visual enhancement.*  
  
  
**-- ONMUND --**  
  
**Spells Added:** Stoneflesh  
**Perks Added:** Light Foot, Recovery, Magic Resistance (Tier 1), Mage Armor (Tier 2)  
**Level Cap:** Raised from 30 to 50  
**New Class:** Destruction Mage (Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, Conjuration, Sneak)  
  
*NOTES: Onmund's specialty lies in Destruction magic, so I've moved him into the appropriate class and given him a few upgrades to improve his durability. *As a Nord, he's quite proud of his heritage & his appearance now alludes to that culture.**  
  
  
**REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS**There are no hard requirements to run this mod, but if you'd like your followers to look exactly like the screenshots, I highly recommend Tempered Skins ([Male](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/7902) & [Female](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8505)), Expressive Facial Animations ([Male](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/93258)﻿ & [Female](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/92897)﻿), [Mild Complexions](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/99135)﻿, [Brows](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30411)﻿, [Beards](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28363), & [True Faces](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/109949). Unofficial Skyrim Patch changes have been forwarded, but the patch itself isn't necessary if you don't want to run it for some reason.  
  
  
**COMPATIBILITY & OTHER INFO**It should go without saying, but this mod is generally incompatible with other mods that edit the same NPCs. Most issues can be resolved via proper load order, but some problems may require a different solution. For more information, click the spoiler tag below.   
  
Spoiler:  Show**Q: "I have the gray/dark face bug!"**  
A: If you have an issue with dark faces, it's most likely a conflict in your load order. To be safe, place my mod below any others that affect NPC visuals or follower functionality like EFF or ATF, etc.  
  
**Q: "Why didn't my follower's skill levels change to reflect their new class?"**  
A: You shouldn't run into this issue if you've started a new game. However, if you've installed during the middle of a save where you've already met/recruited them, you'll have to reset their levels to force the change. Select the follower in the console & type in the following lines one after the other:  
  
   `setlevel 1000 0 1 1`  
   `setlevel 1000 0 1 50`  
  
That should update their skills to the proper value.  
  
**Q: "Illia isn't wearing the robes you gave her."**  
A: If you're experiencing this issue after installation, simply wait 24 hours in another cell so the game can reset her outfit.  
  
**Q: "Can you make a patch for [Insert Mod Name Here]?"**  
I don't currently have any plans to provide patches for mods I don't use in my own game due to the effort & tediousness involved. However, feel free to ask anyway & I might oblige if it's a simple enough fix. You're also more than welcome to create your own patch for this mod & publish it as a standalone mod or request that I host it here, just know that I may not be able to provide further support for said patch.  
  
**Q: "Where's [Insert Magically-Inclined Follower Here]?"**  
Nearly every follower capable of casting spells has been covered either here or in my other mod - [Elegant Elven Followers](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/103947). The only exceptions to this are Serana and Valdimar, the Housecarl from Hjaalmarch, both of whom I might cover in a future project.  
  
**Q: "Any plans to make over other followers?"**  
A: Eventually, though I work full-time and I'm also a perfectionist when it comes to creating characters so they might be few & far between.
