This mod adds a multitude of features aimed at emulating the Roblox game Deepwoken in Minecraft.

As a disclaimer, this mod is intended to be played with the gamerule keepInventory set to true, as you do not lose all of your items on death in Deepwoken.

This mod requires GeckoLib and PlayerAnimator to be installed.

Anyone is free to port this mod to whatever version or mod loader they please. You have my permission.

The music in Scyphozia, the Eternal Gale, and New Kyrsa fall under the Ambience / Environment category. The rest fall under the Music category.

Introduction:

The following are some important mechanics in the mod.

Parrying

Clicking G will cause you to parry.

If you are hit within 10 ticks (0.5 seconds) of initiating the parry, you will parry the attack.

Parrying an attack will make you immune to it and knock the attacker back a bit.

Parry cooldown is immediately reset upon successful parry.

Rolling

Clicking R will cause you to roll forward.

While you are rolling, you are immune to all attacks.

Rejuvenation

Killing entities will cause you to regain health.

This is similar to regaining health on ragdoll in Deepwoken.

New Items:

Void Heart

Crafted by combining an ender pearl with iron ingots and gold ingots.

Can be used to send yourself to Scyphozia without dying.

Light Hook

Crafted by combining a Void Heart with a large amount of gold.

Can be used to send yourself directly to the Eternal Gale regardless of where you are, even if you are on the Surface.

Using the Light Hook will not teleport you to a random area in the dimension, so using it near your friends will allow you all to enter the dimension together.

If you enter the Eternal Gale using a Light Hook, dying will not clear your inventory.

Additionally, you will be able to right click the Light Hook again to send yourself back up to the Depths.

Be careful though, as you are still able to wipe in the first layer of the Depths even if you used your Light Hook.

Phoenix Down

Obtained as a rare chest drop.

Can be used when you are in Scyphozia, the Eternal Gale, or New Kyrsa to send yourself directly back up to the Surface.

Idol of Yun'Shul

Obtained as a rare chest drop.

Can be used to reroll your Resonance.

Grimoire of the Burning Blood

Crafted by combining a book with redstone and many netherite ingots.

Can be used in the Eternal Gale to summon Chaser, Scholar of the Burning Blood.

When used, Chaser will laugh and then appear in the location the grimoire was used.

Kyrsan Medallion

Obtained as a chest drop from Kyrsan Brutes.

Kyrsan Medallions have various uses.

Primarily, they can be used to craft golden apples and enchanted golden apples.

Pluripotent Alloy

Crafted by combining Kyrsan Medallions with netherite ingots.

Can be used to upgrade netherite gear.

Configs:

permadeath - Whether or not you can permanently wipe.

In Deepwoken, there are a multitude of powerful bosses that you can defeat for progression and loot.

This mod adds a few of those bosses to the game.

Duke Ishamon Erisia

Has a very low chance to spawn in the Overworld.

Corrupted Mobs:

In Deepwoken, monsters that spawn in the Depths have a chance of being corrupted.

This mod emulates that system by including a similar corrupted mob system.

All mobs have a 10% chance of spawning as a corrupted mob.

Corrupted mobs have innate Strength 5 and Resistance 3 at all times.

Can be discerned by purple particles emanating from them at all times.

Example of a Corrupted Mob:

Potions of Corruption are brewed with Obsidian and can corrupt mobs.

Potions of Decorrupted are brewed with Milk and can decorrupt mobs.

Also applies to mobs in other mods.

Power System:

In Deepwoken, you become more powerful as you progress by increasing your "power," starting from 1 and going all the way up to 20.

This mod emulates that system by including a similar power system.

You start at power 1 and can reach a maximum of power 20.

To power up, you must spend a certain amount of experience levels, and then click P.

Doing so will permanently increase your maximum health by 2 HP (1 Heart).

At Powers 1-9, you need to spend 20 experience levels to power up.

At Powers 10-20, you need to spend 40 experience levels to power up.

At Power 20, you will have a total of 60 HP (30 Hearts).

Event Chest System:

In Deepwoken, you get most of your loot from completing events, usually from killing NPCs, and then looting the chests that subsequently spawn.

This mod emulates that system by spawning chests containing loot when you kill certain monsters.

Chests spawned from killing these mobs each have their own unique loot pool.

The following are the mobs that spawn chests on death coupled with some of their important drops:

  • Alpha Megalodaunts

  • Crimson Megalodaunts

  • Deep Owls

  • Mechalodaunts

  • Fallen Angels

  • Bonekeepers

  • Kyrsan Brutes

  • Chaser

All chests can contain ender pearls.

Chests from Fallen Angels can contain netherite scrap.

Chests from Deep Owls, Mechalodaunts, Fallen Angels, Bonekeepers, and Kyrsan Brutes can contain rare loot such as artifacts and legendary weapons.

Chests from Kyrsan Brutes are guaranteed to contain kyrsan medallions.

Chests will despawn after 10 seconds.

If you are being swarmed with monsters and cannot open the chest in time, use an axe to break the chest and then pick up the fallen contents.

Resonances:

In Deepwoken, after reaching a certain level of progression, you are able to unlock a Resonance.

This mod emulates this system by adding its own custom resonances that the player can unlock.

Resonances can be unlocked once the player reaches Power 10.

Afterwards, the player will have to head down to the Depths and click C. Doing so will unlock the player's resonance.

In order to activate their resonance, the player has to click C.

Resonances have a 10 Second Cooldown.

There are currently 4 resonances available for obtainment.

Resonances can be rerolled by using an Idol of Yun'Shul.

Storm of Blades

  • Performs a barrage of slashes in an AOE around the player.

  • Deals 20 Damage to all entities in the AOE.

Ring of Fire

  • Incinerates all entities in an AOE around the player.

  • Deals 20 Damage to all entities in the AOE and sets them on fire.

True Ice Hell

  • Freezes all entities in an AOE around the player.

  • Deals 20 Damage to all entities in the AOE and slows them.

Thunderlord's Fury

  • Strikes all entities with lightning in an AOE around the player.

  • Deals 20 Damage to all entities in the AOE.

The Depths - Scyphozia:

In Deepwoken, if you die while your health is stained, you are sent to Scyphozia, a dangerous dimension located underwater populated with powerful monsters. If you die in Scyphozia, all of your progression is reset. However, you have the ability to escape Scyphozia and return to the surface.

This mod emulates that system by adding Scyphozia as a dimension. You are sent to Scyphozia whenever you are killed.

When you are sent to Scyphozia, you will initially see yourself slowly sinking down towards the bottom.

Each time you die, you are teleported to a different, random area in the dimension.

Scyphozia contains megalodaunts, alpha megalodaunts, and deep owls.

To escape Scyphozia, you must wander through the dimension and search for a Light Altar.

You will notice them by their glow. If you jump in the Light Altar, you will be sent back to the Surface.

If you die while you are in the Depths, your inventory and XP are cleared(emulates getting your progression reset, as this mod is intended to be used with keepInventory set to true).

The Eternal Gale:

In Deepwoken, you obtain most of the endgame loot from the Second Layer, whose first half is known as the Eternal Gale.

This mod emulates that system by adding the Eternal Gale as a dimension.

The Eternal Gale contains bounders and bonekeepers.

To go to the Eternal Gale, you must find an Abyssal Rift within Scyphozia.

You will notice them by their glow. If you jump in the Abyssal Rift, you will sink into the Eternal Gale.

To escape the Eternal Gale, you must wander through the dimension and search for a Light Altar.

You will notice them by their glow. If you jump in the Light Altar, you will be sent back to the Surface.

If you die while in the Eternal Gale, your inventory and XP are cleared, much like death in Scyphozia.

New Kyrsa:

In Deepwoken, you are able to delve deeper into the Second Layer, an ancient city named New Kyrsa.

This mod emulates that system by adding New Kyrsa as a dimension.

New Kyrsa contains a large amount of Kyrsan Brutes.

To go to New Kyrsa, you must summon Chaser in the Eternal Gale and then defeat him.

Once you defeat him, a hole will form under him that leads to New Kyrsa.

If you jump into the hole, you will be sent to New Kyrsa.

Currently, the only way to escape New Kyrsa is by using a Phoenix Down.

If you die while in New Kyrsa, your inventory and XP are cleared, much like death in Scyphozia.

Bone Weapons:

In Deepwoken, you can obtain powerful bone weapons as loot from the Second Layer.

This mod emulates that system by adding these bone weapons to the game.

All bone weapons do 2 more damage than their netherite counterparts.

They are crafted by smithing a netherite weapon with a pluripotent alloy.

All the bone weapons except the kyrsblade require the More Weapon Types mod to be installed.

Kyrsblade

Upgraded Sword.

Kyrsedge

Upgraded Dagger.

Kyrsglaive

Upgraded Spear.

Kyrscleave

Upgraded Greatsword.

Kyrsaxe

Upgraded Battleaxe.

Layer Two Armor:

In Deepwoken, you can obtain powerful equipment as loot from the Second Layer.

This mod emulates that system by some of that equipment to the game.

They have better stats than netherite armor in every possible stat.

They are crafted by smithing netherite armor with a pluripotent alloy.

Bulwark Helmet

Upgraded Helmet.

Ironsinger Heavy Plate

Upgraded Chestplate.

Hive Scourge Cuirass

Upgraded Leggings.

Star Boots

Upgraded Boots.

Legendary Weapons:

In Deepwoken, there are various legendary weapons that can be obtained as rare event drops.

This mod adds two of those legendary weapons: the Curved Blade of Winds and the Crypt Blade.

The Curved Blade of Winds

Deals 16 Damage and has a 2.4 Attack Speed.

Powerful sword with a faster swing speed than normal swords.

Right click fires a gale blast that deals 16 Damage with a 5 Second Cooldown.

The Crypt Blade

Deals 28 Damage and has a 1.0 Attack Speed.

Powerful sword with the same attack speed as an axe.

Right click fires a shadow blast that deals 28 Damage with a 15 Second Cooldown.

Both of these weapons can be obtained as ultra rare chest drops from certain mobs.

Cosmetic Coats:

In Deepwoken, there are a large variety of customization options that enhance gameplay and overall enjoyment.

This mod adds a few cosmetic coats to improve immersion and enhance the visual gameplay.

This includes the following:

  • Megalodaunt Coat

  • Alpha Megalodaunt Coat

  • Crimson Megalodaunt Coat

  • Mechalodaunt Coat

  • Dark Owl Cloak

Coats are crafted by arranging their component material in a chestplate crafting recipe.

Below is the appearance of a coat in game.

Campfire Healing:

In Deepwoken, you are able to rest at campfires to recover your health.

This mod emulates that system by allowing you to shift right click campfires to recover your health.

When you use a campfire, you are given Regeneration 3 for 6 seconds.

Slowness 5 and Weakness 5 are also applied to prevent moving / attacking while resting at the campfire.

After using a campfire, there is a 10 second cooldown before you are able to rest at a campfire again.
