Better rain for Fallout 3 weather mods
Better Rain For Weather Mods (Dynamic Weather/Project Reality/URLW 6.0)
This mod aims at giving visual enhancement with minimal performance impact to existing weather mods that feature rain already. THIS MOD DOES NOT ADD RAIN to weather mods but replaces meshes and textures to enhance rainy weathers.
Rain meshe is based on great Fallout New Vegas 3d Rain mod by Jacksonelhage who kindly gave me permission to use his asset for this Fallout 3 variant. It is not just a copy/paste of 3D rain nif... I had to modify many parameters like box emmiter, spawning of particules, gravity and other shader settings to be able to give it attended/proper rendering on FO3 engine.
This new meshe it ultra lightweight (4kb) compare to anchorage snow flake tweaked meshe (36kb). It runs only one 256x128 texture file. Impact on performance should be greatly reduced ( average around 3/4 FPS loss on my old xeon 3440 @ 3.8 GHz + gtx 1060 6Gb + Resolution Scaling 50% + vsync @ 60FPS, whereas i could get up to 10/15 FPS drop with original rain meshes)
This mod has been made for Dynamic weather and tested on it. Works flawlessly.
Due to the structure of URLW 6.0 mod (only one rain meshe used) I could confirm that this mod is compatible with it but it needs some testing and approval from you guys ...
Should work ok with Project Reality MKI but has to be tested too ! I don't use this mod and felt laisy installing/waiting for weather rain to test it.
PR MKI uses two rain meshes (horizontal and vertical rain), but could not find differencies apart from node numbers... assuming that vertical rain is the master nif, i replaced it with nif from this mod and made a copy of it, as the second rain nif. If it creates strange/bugged visuals, then replace horizrain.nif with optional alternate meshe provided in download section. This should fix the problem.
UPDATED VERSION V2 - More dense and visible rain, slightly thicker rain drops...Alternate standalone versions, main file not required, overwrite existing files if asked.
In action:
Installation :

Try Dynamic Weathers - Enhanced Lighting if you are using Xepha,s awesome weather mod. It fixes HDR overbright light bug and shadow-like circle in front of player. It is fully compatible ; )
