Lux_Aurea
Version 2.3*****Update 6 Compatible and works with older saves/campaigns*****
Notes (Version 2.3): Was a small issue of conflicts with some other mods causing issues. Rebuilt the mod structure to fix any conflicts and works with old saves of games (one of which was created Sunday, August 20, 2023, 11:59:48 AM) with no crash to desktop. Also ran with ImprovedUI, ImprovedUI Assets, Basket Full of Equipment as well with no conflicts.
Also, please don't forget to endorse this mod if you enjoy it as it will make it more visible for others to see
Detail for the Mod:
Bite from Astarion inflicts Bloodless as normal but also gives the ability of Vampire Bite. With this ability being tied to Bloodless: it will go away on a long rest as normal in the game.. unless you decide to embrace your darker tendencies and feed (Using Vampire Bite). Upon feeding you gain Undead status and are now fully a vampire with the ability to permanently have the skills to use Vampire Bite, Vampire Claw attack and Dark Vision.
Also, upon feeding you will gain the full powers of a vampire which include Mist Form, Shape change to humanoid, Speak with Dead, Summon Undead from dead body, Bat Form and Charm. In addition, while you are fed, you heal while in shadow conditions at 5 HP + Level per Turn. You can also infect others with Bloodless and if those characters feed, they can fully turn to a vampire as well. Just remember you have to feed daily for each long rest brings back the thirst for blood and the powers that go with it...
Abilities Gained from Bloodless when Bitten (Removed on long rest):
Vampire Bite: Have the ability to feed on blood with Vampire Bite to gain the Happy effect and become a "Full" Vampire if you feed while bloodless.
Note on Bloodless: If you never feed with the Vampire Bite while bloodless: You don't become UNDEAD or a vampire, so bloodless will removed on long rest like normal with no long-term effect. This way Astarion can bite people in party in camp cut scenes (or for normal feeding) and no one becomes a vampire automatically (Only when they feed while bloodless).
Base Abilities as a Full Vampire Who Has Not Fed (Permanent):
*** Do be aware that the Bloodless effect and other powers can impact NPCs as well so be careful who you feed on in battle or you may find yourself in a fight with a full vampire as well***
(Tag of Undead: This is given permanently upon first feeding from when they have bloodless. Sets them as Tag Undead. though not shown on character window (Only as an Icon next to character portrait) the effects of having the tag will influence how certain game effects impact you.)
Vampire Bite: Gain the ability to feed on blood to gain the Happy effect
Claw Attack: Gain the vampire claw attack (Added Version 1.8)
Dark Vision: Standard range
Using Vampire Bite Daily Give the Abilities Below Until Long Rest:
**Effects from Status of Happy Status (Removed on long rest):**Advantage on Rolls: Character rolls 2 dice and takes the highest of the two for the roll. (This applies to Ability checks and to hit in combat).
Vampire Healing: Character regenerates health at 5+Level per tick/turn while in Shadows
-Will typically even bring them back from being downed.
-So...if the Vampire character is level 12: It would be 17/turn of health regen in darkness!
-No Health Regeneration when not in shadows.
Vampire Potence: Character gains a +2 bonus to Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution and Charisma.
Vampire Resistance: Resistance to Slashing, Piercing and Bludgeoning (Added Version 1.2).
Vampire Immunities: Necrotic (Immunity to shadow curse damage) and Poison.
Vampire Vulnerabilities: Vulnerable to Radiant and Fire damage (Added Version 1.2).
Carry Capacity: 4x the normal amount of weight. (Added Version 1.3)
Spell Effects from Status of Happy Status (Removed on long rest):
Transform into a Bat: The Character can transform into a Bat and even attack by bite in that form.
Transform into Mist Form: The Character can transform into Mist Form. This gives some resistance to damage and allows travel through small spaces.
Create Undead: The Character can create a Zombie or Skeleton servant from a nearby corpse that will aid in battle and follow the character around
Umberlee's Praise: Charm Person in 10 ft Radius and impacts multiple NPC's at one time (Added Version 2.2)
Speak with Dead: The character can speak with corpses and ask questions of the dead (Added Version 1.3)
Disguise Self: The character can shape change into other humanoid races (Dwarf, Tiefling, Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Halfling, Gnome and Dragonborn)(Added Version 1.3)
Permanenty Fly Ability: The character always has the fly option without casting the spell (Version 2.3)
Note on Gameplay: If you do happen to die during gameplay, the Undead status (Which is what makes you a vampire) is removed, so upon being raised from the dead...you will need to have Astarion bite you (or another character that has been infected fully with Undead Vampire) again to be turned back into the undead person you should be..an Undead Vampire.
*** Please give an Endorsement if you enjoy the mod ***
***Tested with ImprovedUI with no issues or conflicts***
***Thanks to**Rezaprtm55 and jaybud4 for suggestions to change mod to cause less impacts with other mods*****
Check out my other mods for BG3:
- Now play with Vampirism that is able to be transferred to others with full powers on feeding. Gives a background called Undead that allows a custom character to start as a vampire, gives Astarion Vampire abilities from the start and play as Astarion as the Dark Urge.
-
You can play as a vampire with sunlight causing fire damage but stronger in darkness, Play as a demi-god that becomes more powerful each turn they fight or Shade from Plane of Shadows that is fully impacted with Stats, etc.. with changing conditions in lighting.
