Holy Armor of Selune
Hello, this is my first mod so I'll get the most important part out of the way.
I want to thank legend0fthefall and tepkunset for their great guides on making custom content from assets derived from in engine. I also would like to thank kahashi69 because I learned how to create my own custom effects and passives from his effects on his own custom assets in his Armour of Vengeance mod, I didn't steal nothing tho (I think).
Version 1.0.8 Edit: I want to thank dazzerfong for the scripts needed to add the hair models to the helmets, this allowed me to add the hair along with the new Claymore model. I also want to also thank Druundev for her tutorial vids on creating custom armor; while I didn't create a custom armor yet, her content was critical to me understanding the custom model/mesh process with blender. Lastly, I want to thank Kiderion aka Lykon because I used his Anduril mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/303) as the comparison template for my own mod.
Alright onto the nitty gritty.
I added the full set of armor (no accessories.. yet) and a custom sword, The Full Moon. This set wasn't necessarily meant to be balanced, but it doesn't feel completely unbalanced on Tactician Plus. ~~No I will not be creating weaker versions of the armor or sword~~. You can read through the stats in the pictures I posted above. If people want a Very Rare version I will add it.
As a design choice, I put the Dwarven Plate Shoulders/Pauldrons on the male chestplates (except for the Dwarf version, ironic) because the originals shoulders didn't strike me as visually appealing for the male characters. Otherwise I think the armor fits for more late game armor progression and of course that holy warrior fantasy.
Feel free to tweak as you see fit, its just tedious work and a lot of space taken up by unpacked files.
And with the tediousness comes the....
Issues:
The biggest issue. Halflings and Gnomes will look real wonky with the chestplate on due to Larian not quite finishing the sets on races they never intended to wear this armor anyway. I'm not skilled enough to make the fabric effects (yet?) but I will probably roll out a replacement armor for the chestplate with an existing chestplate and make it custom some other way, but I just wanted to be done with the mod in the meantime.
Secondly. Clipping. This was unfortunate to find out, but the issue above with Halflings and Gnomes applied to Githyanki as well, and Dragonborn and Half Orcs didn't even get models created. I replaced the Githyanki M+F models with the existing Human models, with clipping at the neck when they look down. Half Orcs and Dragonborn use the Human Strong model and it works decently well. The helmets are extremely tight on the Half Orc faces, which I thought was funny so I left it in, but Dragonborn do not have a helmet model ( I don't use dragonborn in my playthroughs, but I think the Durge base character looks awesome in the armor so yeah) and they clip at the neck rather aggressively.
If someone has solutions regarding the Halflings/Gnomes, feel free to reach out. For the clipping issues, sorry I'm not good at modeling so I can't create the models for the intended characters so it'll have to do.
**Fixes:**If you dye the armor, it has a chance of stiffening the tassels hanging. To fix that just unequip and reequip the armor.
